What Nighttime Moisturizer Do You Use?

Night time can be your skin’s best friend. It’s the perfect time to let anti-oxidants and a natural nighttime moisturizer work their magic. When else can you walk around with lotion all over your face?

It’s also the perfect time to use age-defying ingredients like Retinol which can my your skin hypersensitive to sunlight when used during the day. Products like “Say Yes To Carrots” have become popular via word of mouth on social media.

The question remains, which nighttime moisturizer to use right? Here are some helpful reviews of some of the more popular brands.

Nighttime moisturizer tends to be thicker than daytime moisturizers, use exfoliators to improve skin texture, and contain more hydrators to replenish moisture lost during the day (so you wake up looking less tired and puffy). They also contain ingredients like retinol, which shouldn’t be used during the day because it makes your skin more sensitive to sunlight.

When looking for a nighttime moisturizer, keep an eye out for reparative and nourishing ingredients like ceramides and collagen boosters. Nights are also best reserved for more aggressive exfoliants like retinol and acids. If you’re using one of those heavy hitters, be sure to hydrate and moisturize both at night and during the day.

Nighttime moisturizer is, by design, formulated to penetrate deep into the skin over the course of several hours aka while you get some beauty sleep and are often richer in texture than their day cream counterparts.

There are some moisturizers such as Hemperor that contain a substantial amount of Shea Butter, Coconut Oil and Hemp Seed Oil that it works wonderfully as both a daytime and a nighttime moisturizer. Shea Butter is such an amazing skin care ingredient, I would not use a moisturizer without it. Some people even use pure Shea Butter on their skin.
